Internet Explorer pegged for critical fix on Tuesday
Microsoft's monthly patch release for July will cover seven security issues, six of which could be remotely exploited by an attacker. The company publishes an advisory in advance of its patch date, which is the second Tuesday of the month, so administrators knows what products will be affected. It does not describe the vulnerabilities, however, until the security fixes are released. Read More

Serious flaws found in IPMI server management protocol
Security experts are warning companies to segregate and closely monitor network traffic to a highly vulnerable protocol used in remotely monitoring and managing servers. Independent security consultant Dan Farmer identified serious flaws in the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) protocol that talks to the server's Baseboard Management Controller, a microcontroller embedded in the motherboard. Twitter toying with more tailored ads, aiming to protect users' privacy
Twitter is working on some new approaches to offer more personalized ads to users, partly based on their online activity outside of the social network. The experiment, which will display promoted content from brands and businesses that users have shown interest in, will be starting soon in the U.S., said Kevin Weil, senior director of product for revenue at Twitter, in a July 3 blog post.
