Facebook may have leaked data for users and nonusers alike
Bad news for privacy-conscious souls who've tried to keep their personal data out of Facebook's deep info troves: The company has suffered a massive data leak affecting not just millions of its users, but also an undisclosed number of users who might not even use the social networking site. Compounding the problem, security company Packet Storm -- which first reported the data leak -- is accusing Facebook of downplaying the scope of the leak, to the point of being "antithetical to [its] own aspirational goal in winning consumers' trust." Mobile developers see big rise in demand for enterprise apps
Mobile developers are seeing a healthy increase in demand to build business apps instead of consumer-facing apps, according to newly released survey from Appcelerator and IDC. Researcher nets $20K for finding serious Facebook flaw
A U.K.-based researcher has netted $20,000 for spotting a very serious flaw in Facebook that could have allowed an attacker to take over anyone's account with minimal effort. The flaw was fixed by Facebook about a month ago, wrote Jack Whitten, an application security engineer who posted a post-mortem on his blog. Read More

Opera: Hackers pilfered code-signing certificate to sign malware
Opera Software said Wednesday hackers pilfered from its internal systems at least one code-signing certificate that was used to sign malicious software. The Oslo-based company, which makes a mobile and desktop web browser, wrote in a blog post that it believes a few thousand Windows users may have automatically installed malicious software between 01.00 and 01.36 UTC on June 19, the day the attack was detected and halted.
