Apple to outsell Microsoft in two years, Android will beat both this year
Sales of devices based on Apple's OS X and iOS will overtake those of products running all flavors of Windows -- Windows 8, Windows RT, and Windows Phone -- in 2015, a Gartner analyst predicts. Bitcoin miners, beware: Lawmakers are fixating on digital currency
Lawmakers have become increasingly focused on bitcoins as the virtual currency has gained popularity and value in recent months. But judging by a recent cease-and-desist notice sent to the Bitcoin Foundation, some government types may be taking the "shoot first, ask questions later" approach to dealing with the non-traditional currency. California's Department of Financial Institutions (CFI) has warned the non-profit that it "may be engaged in the business of money transmission" without a license or proper authorization. Read More

Facebook in hot water over data gathering practices
As if admitting a data breach exposing personal information for 6 million of its members wasn't bad enough, now Facebook is facing growing ire over its data gathering practices. Last Friday, the social network announced it fixed a bug that affected about six million people that allowed some of its members to see additional information about their contacts when using Facebook's "Download Your Information" tool.
