New Windows 'Blue' leak shows more refinements
Microsoft just can't seem to keep a lid on it: A new development version of Windows 8.1, aka Windows "Blue," was leaked this week on P2P sites, showing some new tweaks and improvements. Build 9369 does not bring any significant changes over the previous leak, but Microsoft seems to be working on refinements of the multi-tasking interface, as well as a new Apps List and a new file explorer for SkyDrive. Nokia sees improving Windows Phone sales and shrinking loss in Q1
Nokia's sales of smartphones running Windows Phone continued to grow in the first quarter, and its net loss shrank year on year, even as overall revenue declined. The company reported first-quarter sales of €5.85 billion ($7.63 billion), down 20 percent year-on-year, and a net loss of €272 million, smaller than the year-earlier loss of €928 million. Read More

US House moves toward passage of CISPA
The U.S. House of Representatives moved closer Wednesday toward the passage of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), despite concerns that the cyber threat information-sharing bill will allow Web-based companies to share a wide amount of customer information with government agencies. US Bitcoin exchange BitFloor shuts down again
The largest Bitcoin exchange in the U.S., BitFloor, has closed again, this time due to issues with its bank account, according to its founder. Roman Shtylman wrote that the exchange's "US bank account is scheduled to be closed and we can no longer provide the same level of USD deposits and withdrawals as we have in the past." The exchange will be shut "indefinitely." Read More

ARM wins more Big.Little licensees
More companies have signed on for ARM's Big.Little chip design technology, which mixes low-power and power-hungry cores for more efficient energy use of chips in smartphones, tablets, servers and other equipment. Seventeen companies have so far licensed Big.Little, ARM said in a statement Wednesday. That is a jump from seven companies announced at the Mobile World Congress in February. Read More
