Twitter shaming no longer just for teens and celebrities
Hoping to strike a blow against sexism in the tech industry, developer and tech evangelist Adria Richards took to Twitter to complain about two male developers making purportedly offensive jokes. One of the developers was subsequently fired. Microsoft's MVP program turns 20
Back in the day, many of us flocked to CompuServe forums to ask questions, give answers, and beg and berate Microsoft employees to learn the latest about Windows (3.1 and NT), Word, Excel, Access, the MSN beta, MS-Basic, FoxPro, and other products that bedeviled early-early adopters. If you think Facebook is a time sink, you should've seen the geeks on CompuServe forums, dishing up ideas and help by the heaping bucketful. One of those early participants put together a list of the most active and most helpful posters on the various forums. Somebody at Microsoft must have looked at the list and said something like, "Holy Moses, these people are doing all sorts of good work, promoting our products and helping our customers -- and they're all volunteers." Google launches Keep for personal notes
Google is looking to replace physical sticky notes with Keep, a new product designed for storing notes and other pieces of information. The company is positioning Keep as a simple organizational tool that lets users jot down literally anything, either by hand or by voice, as they go about their day. Google is calling the product, launched Wednesday, "a central place to save what's on your mind." Read More

Microsoft discontinues Office 2010 sales, some retailers jack up prices
Some sellers have raised the price of Office 2010's lowest-cost multi-license package after Microsoft discontinued retail sales of the suite. Giant online retailer Amazon.com, for example, now lists what Microsoft called the "Full Packaged Product" (FFP) of Office Home & Student 2010 at $170, $20 higher than the former list price, representing a 13 percent surcharge. FAQ: Inside Microsoft's cloud ERP strategy
Microsoft has announced some key details of how it will introduce Dynamics ERP (enterprise resource planning) software products to the cloud computing model, from initial release dates to the precise role of partners. Dynamics NAV 2013 and GP 2013, both of which cater to smaller and midsized companies, will be available on Microsoft's Azure cloud service through partners in June, Microsoft announced this week at the Convergence conference in New Orleans.
