Opinion -- as one might expect where anything Microsoft is concerned -- varied wildly, ranging from the camp that proclaimed the imminent death of the Windows Desktop to Windows 8 critics disappointed that "Blue" seems more of a tweak than a rewrite to users who want to know what all the fuss is about anyway.
