Facebook quickly fixes privacy leak in new timeline, group says
Facebook quickly fixed a privacy leak in its new timeline after being alerted to the problem, according to a watchdog that follows the social-networking site closely. Europe v. Facebook, an Austrian student organization that has filed complaints in Europe over Facebook's privacy practices, said it found the redesign allowed "friends of friends" to see all of the events a user attended even if the person's privacy settings only permitted their friends to see the events. 500K users flee dead-RSS-walking Google Reader for Feedly
Feedly, a free Web-based RSS service that also offers iOS and Android apps, has added half a million new users since Google announced it would pull the plug on its Reader RSS feed this summer. "More than 500,000 Google Reader users have joined the Feedly community over the last 48 hours," the company said in a blog post Friday. "We love passionate readers. Welcome on board." Read More

Apple CEO Tim Cook's approval rating drops
Apple CEO Tim Cook's approval rating fell in the last 12 months, dropping Steve Jobs' successor to the 18th spot on an annual ranking of American chief executives. Cook received an average approval rating of 93 percent from more than 640 Apple workers on Glassdoor, an online jobs and careers website, between March 2012 and March 2013. That put Cook at No. 18, behind several other technology CEOs such as Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg (No. 1), EMC's Joe Tucci (No. 7), Google's Larry Page (No. 11) and Amazon's Jeff Bezos (No. 16). Lenovo redesigns ThinkPad, drops weight by a quarter
Lenovo is updating the design of its ThinkPad laptops to keep them up-to-date in a market where computers are getting thinner and lighter at a fast rate.
