Firefox to auto-block third-party ad cookies by summer
Mozilla will automatically block third-party cookies starting with Firefox 22, which is slated to ship this summer, according to the Stanford University researcher who coded the change. The move, which will make it more difficult for online ad networks to track users' activities, was only the latest skirmish in a war between advertisers and some browser makers. Read More

Samsung reveals Galaxy Note 8 but holds back on price
Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Note 8 tablet with an 8-inch display, adding a new screen size to its expanding lineup of Note products. The tablet is 25 percent lighter thinner than the company's Galaxy Tab 2 tablets, said Shoneel Kolhatkar, director of product planning at Samsung. It can display images at 1,280-by-800 pixel resolution, and comes with optional 3G connectivity for making calls and using mobile broadband networks. It will connect to HSPA+ networks. Read More

Mozilla previews Firefox OS with four phone makers
Mozilla previewed the first commercial build of its Firefox OS and announced several operator and smartphone rollout plans on Sunday at Mobile World Congress. Samsung bolsters BYOD management with a Fort Knox approach
Samsung Monday announced an improved version of its SAFE management and security system for popular Samsung-branded Android smartphones and tablets. Samsung dubbed the updated tool set Knox, after the famous Fort Knox in Kentucky where much of the U.S. gold reserves are stored. Read More
