As the latest iPhone went on sale Friday, with T-Mobile USA once again left out of the party, the fourth-place U.S. carrier started turning on a network that is designed to offer high data rates on unlocked iPhones. Read More

Oracle database flaw deemed serious, could expose data
Some Oracle databases have what experts say is a serious flaw in the log-in system that a hacker can use to retrieve and change stored data. The flaw, in Oracle Database 11g Releases 1 and 2 leaves the token that is provided by the server before authentication is completed open to a brute-force attack. If successful, an attacker can gain access to the database. Read More

Oracle releases free ADF Essentials
In an effort to expand programmer awareness, Oracle has released a free version of its Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF). "This [release] allows the ADF framework to be used outside of the Oracle stack," said Bill Pataky, vice president of product management in the Oracle Fusion team. The package, called Oracle ADF Essentials, promises to be "a really powerful way to create rich Web applications very quickly," Pataky said. Read More
