Sencha expands HTML5 app dev tools
HTML5 tools vendor Sencha unveiled today Sencha Complete Team, which bundles existing tools with an Eclipse plug-in, a desktop application packager, and data connectors. Developers using the suite can build HTML5-based business applications for mobile and desktop environments. Sencha says developers can build applications using Web technologies and a single code base, then package them to run on multiple devices, including Apple's iPhone and iPad, Google Android devices, and OS X and Windows PCs. Blue Toad admits it was source of 12 million leaked Apple UDIDs
An application publishing company called Blue Toad has taken responsibility for being the original source of the millions of stolen Apple UDIDs leaked online last week, according to reports. The admission at least in part contradicts claims from hacker group AntiSec, which said it swiped the data from an FBI agent's computer and accused the law-enforcement group of secretly gathering device IDs to track U.S. citizens. Crowd-sourced storage service charges bytes instead of bucks
Peer-to-peer cloud storage vendor Symform announced it is offering unlimited online capacity to customers who pay by contributing local disk capacity instead of money. Symform uses a crowd-sourcing strategy to create a virtual pool of capacity through the use of peer-to-peer technology. Read More

AMD's SeaMicro server talks to 5-petabyte storage cluster
Advanced Micro Devices has launched the first new products from its SeaMicro acquisition earlier this year, including a server that can be linked to a massive, 5-petabyte storage cluster for running large-scale big data and cloud computing applications. Read More

Early ARM 64-bit prototype servers could come by year end
Early prototype 64-bit ARM servers could be available for testing purposes by the end of this year or possibly at the latest by the middle of next year, ARM said on Monday. ARM will try to make inexpensive 64-bit server hardware available by working with partner Applied Micro Circuits, which has licensed the chip designer's 64-bit ARMv8 architecture, said Ian Ferguson, director of server systems and ecosystem at ARM.
