Scramble for IPv6 begins as Europe depletes IPv4 URLs
Just four months after the 2012 World IPv6 Launch Day, RIPE NCC -- the RIR (Regional Internet Registry) for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia -- has announced that it has distributed its last available blocks of IPv4 address space, urging that "it is now imperative that all stakeholders deploy IPv6 on their networks to ensure the continuity of their online operations and the future growth of the Internet." Google to drop support for IE8 on Nov. 15
Google will drop support for Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) for its online apps and services in mid-November, effectively ending support for many users of Windows XP. Because IE8 is the newest Microsoft browser that runs on Windows XP, and because Google had previously abandoned IE7 and IE6 -- the other versions that run on XP -- the move significantly impacts Windows XP users locked into Internet Explorer by corporate or organization policies. Startup Malwarebytes offers enterprise anti-malware detection, prevention
In the past, Malwarebytes started out focused on consumer-based malware, but now the San Jose, Calif.-based company says it's offering an enterprise product for desktop-based anti-malware detection and eradication protection. Despite being a relative newcomer, Malwarebytes is carving out its own space with what it says is an anti-malware product that can handle zero-day malware incidents with more speed than many other antivirus products.
