The "ad" looked like the prompt that appears when his phone rings. What IT managers say to get the CIO's OK

LTE option poses data dilemma for iPad, smartphone users
The new iPad's LTE option, which allows access to fast 4G networks, has also shocked some customers who found they can eat up an entire month's worth of data watching just a couple hours of streaming video. Facebook reportedly buys IBM patents
Facebook has reportedly acquired patents from IBM, a move that could help it shore up defenses against new patent infringement lawsuits ahead of its IPO. The social networking company confirmed the purchase, and said the patents cover software and networking technologies. Read More

Google boosts security of hosted developer services
Google has beefed up the security of its cloud hosted services for developers by making several of them able to authenticate interactions with applications using certificate-based Service Accounts. These certificates offer a stronger authentication method than shared keys and passwords because they aren't "human-readable or guessable," wrote Google product manager Justin Smith in a blog post.
