Windows Phone Apps Look Stunning, But They Can't Compete With iPhone App Functionality

Windows Phone apps look undeniably beautiful, but they don't always have as much functionality as iPhone apps. Sometimes text runs off of your screen, and often there's just too much empty space on screen. Windows Phone utilizes swiping to navigate the app instead of a simple navigation bar. iOS apps look like they've been built by a utilitarian mathematician who dabbles in the art, while Windows Phone apps look like they've been built by a brilliant artist who just can't make up his mind about how to structure things. Which apps look better to you? Facebook's Windows Phone app looks more elegant, but doesn't display as much information.
ESPN ScoreCenter has very similar left/right "swipe" navigation on both platforms.
The Kindle app looks much more colorful and visual on Windows Phone, but how do we sort by author?
